"Cowrie was used for ritual ceremonies in many parts of the world. They were tossed onto the earth, used as a way to consult with greater power. In North America, Ojibway, aboriginal people use cowrie shells which are called sacred Miigis Shells, or white shells in Midewiwin ceremonies.

As I feel this year is tiny bit easier to live, I still worry something big is going to happen. During last administration I was getting alarming email from embassy almost everyday. Of course lots of them were about covid, but also warning about travel ban, riots, racism, possibility of domestic terrorisms. It has been a while since I got a email other than covid, but today I received one about warning for terrorism as Islamic religious event getting closer. Then I see headlines about Saturday right wing rally. As I see you know who’s face everyday nowadays, I remember my brain was occupied with warning pop up everyday, and had no space left for my creative thoughts.

Whatever we decided to do now, still we will see many devastating problems in near future. Is this how you want to live? I certainly not. I would rather put our head together with all different kind of people, and try find a better way. " Momoku Usami Cotter
